RetainerProof vs WP Umbrella

WP Umbrella is a WordPress care dashboard priced per site, and the client report is included in that price. RetainerProof does not update plugins, does not take backups, and does not install a plugin. It is the page you send when the client asks what the retainer was for.

On 20 October 2026 their pricing page showed €1.99 or $2.19 per site per month. White-label client reporting was in the base price, not an add-on. If you want the suite, buy the suite. This page is only the report split. The shorter “leave the suite” version is the WP Umbrella alternative.

The comparison

Their reports page, the same day, said maintenance data is collected without extra manual input, that you can add custom work, and that reports go out on a schedule as email, PDF, or both. Branding can include your name, domain, logo, and colors. A FAQ said you can pick from 50 or more variables, and that updates made in wp-admin are added too. I am not going to pretend a generated plugin list is the same object as a sentence the client can repeat.

The terms page the same day said prices are exclusive of taxes. The pricing FAQ said a yearly prepay gets a 10% discount, and the trial is 14 days with no credit card. I am not quoting a customer count from their marketing, because this page is about the product split.

When to keep WP Umbrella

Keep it when the care plan is “we update these WordPress sites, back them up, and watch them.” The report comes along, and you can add the work they did not see. Per site, the base price is low if the suite is doing the labor. Two optional add-ons sit outside that price. I am not one of them, and I am not a firewall.

When to use RetainerProof

Use it when the client should not need a plugin on the site to receive the month, or when the roster is not all WordPress. Your name leads the page on every plan. Starter keeps a small product link. Studio and Agency take it off. There is no per-site reporting fee on top of the plan.

Plans are Starter at $9/month for up to 5 sites, Studio at $29/month for up to 25 sites, and Agency at $79/month for up to 100 sites. Studio is the plan marked recommended when it is for sale. Starter, including a trial, keeps a small Powered by RetainerProof link on the client digest and the public status page. Studio and Agency remove that link. Prices are on the pricing page.

FAQ

Is the WP Umbrella report included, or extra?

Their pricing FAQ said white-label client reports are included in the €1.99 per site. The two extras I saw were the Security add-on and Hourly Backups.

Will RetainerProof show which plugins were updated?

No. Nothing on the server reports that back. If you want the update list, keep the tool that saw the update. Put the outcome on the client page.

Do I have to pick one?

No. WP Umbrella can keep the WordPress work. RetainerProof can be the link you send. Cancelling the suite to save the report is the wrong trade.
